| In this edition of Eastwood Garage, it’s all about the tunes. George Swade from Custom Autosound is on hand to discuss stereo upgrades for your classic car. At the beginning, George reminds us all that you don’t have to take a chain saw to the dash to upgrade the stereo system in your classic. Custom Autosound has been designing car stereo systems for 28 years, and their new line of products is simply the best that they have ever produced.
To begin, we find Dennis holding a replacement radio for a 1963 Falcon. This radio is from their USA-5 Series and features an AM/FM tuner, cassette player, and a high-power amplifier. In addition, a new feature of the USA-5 is that it controls their optional 10-disc CD changer! Next, Dennis displays a USA-6 Series stereo for a Ford Mustang. This model does not have a cassette player, but it also operates their optional 10-disc CD changer. It has additional features such as RCA line inputs that accept iPods and other MP3 players, as well as other power amplifiers. There is also an input for a subwoofer, just in case your “thump” isn’t what it should be! Speaking of their optional CD changer, it comes with 18 feet of cable so that you can mount it in the trunk or under the seat out of sight. They have made such refinements in the changer itself that it can be mounted vertically or horizontally without the risk of any skipping during CD play.
Speakers were the next topic at hand. George told Dennis about Custom Autosound’s new line of 6 X 9 Dual Voice Coil Speakers that feature stereo sound coming from just one speaker. This is particularly good for those dashboards that were equipped with only one speaker from the factory. So there you have it! Replacement stereos for more than 400 models and a variety of speaker systems that can fit wherever you need them to. It’s all available from Custom Autosound!
