My T/A wasn't so great in the snow either, but it sure was fun  .

I just this morning forund the "My Classic Car" show on TV which led me to this site. I have great hopes that the folks here can help me start on my way-overdue project.

I dated my wife in a 1967 Firebird Convertible. We have been married 28 years now. (Photo from the 1990's.)

I still have the Firebird in the garage. It was getting really tired when I parked it in the garage 20 years ago with 176.000 miles on it. The engine was last turned over in 1995, and at that time the brakes were out and the regulator fried. It has been up on jack stands since 2000. It is in solid shape, never been hit, and always garaged. It is just REALLY tired.

I strongly want to finally dive into getting it back on the road. The kids are grown and the car is calling me. The only thing I have done so far is pull the gas tank to seal it. My goal is to first get it roadworthy, then decide how I want to fix it up. The exterior will remain totally stock, but I am weighing updating the running gear and controls. The idea of a modern radio is also appealing, since the factory radio quit long ago.

I'm hoping to pick up good "getting started tips here too! (Recent photo)

Check out Ames Performance Engineering, NPD, Performance Years, and Year One for repro and N.O.S. parts, and also, for run of the mill stuff, like Brake System Parts, Electrical, etc, NAPA, Autozone and Advance Auto Parts. A quick google search will get you their Website URL's. You're definitely going to need to change the Oil before trying to run that engine again, blow out the Fuel Line, probably throw a Jiffy Kit in the Carburetor, and Flush the Cooling System, not to mention new Plugs, Wires, Cap and Rotor, Points, and Condenser.

What kind of "getting started tips" are you interested in knowing?

Hey guys, I am a Pontiac owner. Right now I am working on a 68 Firebird. I am only worked on the back end so far. Anyone have a first generation that they restored?

I have a Turbo 350 in my Trans Am, no two speeds were available by 1976. The full specs can be found at http://www.76transam.net, which is a redirect, so don't be scared if the URL changes after you first get to the site.
