| Today at Eastwood Garage, Keith Maney from Year One, Inc. is on hand to show off the latest restoration parts for second generation Firebirds and Trans Ams. Keith also brought with him Year One’s new Burt Reynolds Edition (BRE) Trans Am! This high performance ride has been created by Year One to honor the Bandit himself, and you won’t believe the upgrades you will discover when you read about it!
Keith begins by showing many of the parts that were used on the BRE, such as front-end bumper covers now made from fiberglass that are even better than the original plastic covers. Also, those wheel flares that set the Trans Am apart from other cars have been redesigned and are deeper, based on those used on the 1979 T/A. Another thing that is distinctive for Trans Am is the “engine-turned aluminum” look of the dash. Now that look is available in genuine billet aluminum and is also available in a black finish for Trans Am, Formula, and Firebird! Another interesting part now available is a billet Shifter Boot Bezel for automatic consoles, and there is the classic Trans Am steering wheel! Year One has a reproduction wheel that is better than the original! This wheel is covered in leather, and the classic three-spoke design is available in black, silver, and gold. Year One has also developed a small console that is perfect for a DVD or GPS system that fits neatly between the shift console and the dash. Oh yeah, if your T/A or Firebird is in need of door panels, Year One has both the originals and an upgraded panel. They also have some great looking inserts for them that match the billet aluminum dash. Finally, you know how much it improves the look of any car to add a great set of wheels. Year One’s wheels for Firebirds and Trans Ams are no exception and are based on the original Pontiac snowflake design. These modern wheels come in 17, 18, and 19 inch and can be ordered in widths of nine through 12 inches. They are also unpainted, so you can choose your own custom touch!
So, if that old Firebird or Trans Am needs a face lift or a few other special touches, then look no further than the parts and accessories available at Year One, Inc. You can find them on the web at www.yearone.com, or you can reach them by telephone at 1-800-YEAR ONE.
