Episode #12018
"Tail Lamp Assemblies and Lenses"
Written by Keith Fudge

Today at Eastwood Garage, Sean Hughes from Classic Industries is on hand to show Dennis the latest in tail lamps and accessories for GM cars and trucks.  As they began, Sean points out that Classic Industries has replacement tail lamps “for almost anything,” particularly for the Chevy Camaro, Nova, Impala, and Pontiac Firebird!  In addition, Sean brought an incredible variety of replacement tail lamps for a host of GM cars and trucks.  At that point, he started to identify the specific lenses for Dennis.

First, Sean showed Dennis a complete tail lamp kit for a 1963 Impala.  This kit includes all the trim rings and mounting accessories and gaskets.  Next, there were lenses for 1967-68 Firebirds and a special lens for a 1940-1953 Chevy pickup (the left-hand light that includes a lens to illuminate the license plate).  Classic Industries also has lenses for some recent Chevy pickups including factory replacements for 1973-1986 models as well as “tricked out” versions to give that classic truck a bit of bling!

Another thing that Dennis and Sean talked about was the variance in GM tail lamps for certain models and option packages.  For example, Classic Industries has tail lamp replacements for a 1969 standard Camaro and for a 1969 Rally Sport Camaro.  They also pay such close attention to detail that they have the factory correct different lenses for the 1970-71 Camaro and the 1972-73 Camaro that had the “pillow center” in the lens.  Different lenses were also used for the 1966 Impala and Caprice, and Classic Industries has them both!  In addition, Sean had examples of replacement lenses for 1966-67 Nova, 1970-73 Firebird, 1960-66 Chevy pickups, and for Chevy pickups from 1967-1972.  Remember that Classic Industries also has all the mounting hardware including plates, gaskets, and trim rings that you need to do the job right!  Don’t forget, all of their parts are OEM specifications, so you can count on the correct part and the proper fit.
