Episode #12001
"Air Suspension Systems"
Written by Keith Fudge

In this segment of Eastwood Garage, Dennis is joined by Keith Maney of Year One, Inc. to talk about the latest in air-ride technology for classic cars.  “How low can you go?” is the question here.  From the looks of the classic Mopar B-Body convertible located behind Dennis and Keith, the answer is, “As low as you like!”

Keith begins by telling Dennis that in addition to the cool cruiser looks that air-ride technologies offer, there is also a performance benefit to this type of system in terms of better handling and overall suspension performance.  Keith goes on to say that the performance system on the Mopar is a prototype system designed and built by the folks at Air Ride Technologies.  Since that system works so well, they are now offering it through Year One.  Keith said that one tremendous advantage in this type of system is the fact that it is strictly a bolt-on installation!  Rear leaf springs are replaced, and an air bag replaces the coil springs.  The kit includes the pump, reservoir, solenoids, sensors, and everything else needed to make the installation.  As far as what the system can do, there are three presets for height adjustment, and car owners can even individually adjust the corners of the car if that is their thing!  In short, this kit offers everything to improve the drive, ride, performance, and looks of your car!  How can anyone go wrong?
