"Garage Flooring"
Written by Keith Fudge

Some time ago at Eastwood Garage, Jorgen Moller of RaceDeck told Dennis about the latest technology in interlocking floor coverings for your shop or garage!  Well, today he is back with some news about RaceDeck’s latest innovations.  In case you missed his first appearance, Jorgen again told Dennis that their company has 30 years experience in creating the interlocking floor systems, and they produce a full line of products especially made for your shop or garage.
Jorgen went on to say that appearance and durability are the keys as RaceDeck interlocking tiles not only look great, but they also resist oil, anti-freeze, brake fluid, household chemicals, and ultra-violet rays.  They install in a “snap” by simply placing the tiles in the appointed grooves and popping them together!  As opposed to floor preparation for an epoxy-based floor covering, there is no special process to install RaceDeck other than sweeping and vacuuming a level concrete surface.  That means there are no toxic fumes to deal with!  RaceDeck floor tiles also have an edging piece that snaps onto the tiles at the opening of your door or garage door that allows easy access for your mower, car, bike, or whatever you may be driving.  Don’t worry about breaking down those tiles, as RaceDeck tiles have a 25,000-pound load capacity!  Another great feature of RaceDeck is that it actually breathes.  It allows moisture to dry so there is no mold or mildew under the tiles.  If your shop or garage is equipped with a drain, they have tiles to place over the drain as well.

Now comes the best part—RaceDeck floors look great!  RaceDeck interlocking floor systems are available in a variety of seven styles and more than 20 colors.  You can mix and match to create your own pattern for your floor.  They even have a new wood grained finish that looks just like hardwood and is perfect for the house or the shop!  If there is a special picture or logo that you would like in your floor, the folks at RaceDeck can mold that image right into the tile in whatever size that you want!  Pretty cool, huh?  In addition, you can also use new RaceDeck XL tiles that are 18” x 18” in size, and they fit right along with the standard 12” x 12” tiles.  You can complete the floor by using their edging and corner pieces to give the room a professional “framed” look.  So, in reality, you are only limited by your imagination!

Now, if all these features aren’t cool enough, here is the sweetest part.  You can install a RaceDeck floor all by yourself…in no time at all!  It takes about two hours to do a two-car garage.  However, if you are too busy, they have trained personnel that will come to your garage and get the job done for you.  RaceDeck—made in the U.S.A. and ready to be the foundation that you need!  If you would like more information on RaceDeck interlocking floor systems, give them a visit on the web at www.racedeck.com, or you can give them a call at 800-457-0174.  By the way, don’t forget when you are looking for unique automotive tools and supplies for your automobile restoration, you should give the folks at Eastwood a visit at www.eastwood.com.
