"Restoration & Upgrades for Ford Trucks"
Written by Keith Fudge

In this week’s segment of Eastwood Garage, Dennis is joined by Rick Schmidt from National Parts Depot to discuss some of the latest upgrades for classic Ford trucks!  Today’s talk is about tailgates and replacement lighting—two essential components needed in any full-scale restoration.  Rick begins to talk about one part that makes a truck:  the tailgate!  Rick said that these parts are prone to rust, abuse, and accidents.  So, rather than scouring a salvage yard to find a better one, now you can turn to National Parts Depot for a Ford licensed reproduction part.  These replacement tailgates are made from the original tooling, and they are made in the USA as well!  Rick goes on to mention that NPD also sells reproduction tailgates that are made overseas, but due to licensing issues, they don’t feature the Ford logo.  Both these styles of tailgates are available for 1964-1972 Styleside trucks and for 1953-1972 Flaresides too!  Now, it doesn’t make sense to replace a rusty old tailgate with a brand new one and put it on with that old beaten-up hardware, does it?  That’s right, it doesn’t, and Rick says that NPD also has all the correct latches, hinges, handles, and chain supports to make sure that it works like new as well as looks like new!

Next, the talk turns to lights—tail lights to be specific, and Rick shows Dennis NPD’s new line of LED replacement lights.  These bright beauties come in different intensities and improve both the looks and safety of your vehicle.  They also have LED running lights in white or amber and they stock LED flasher bulbs as well, so drivers can spot you from a greater distance.  Now, that takes care of the rear of the car, but what about being able to see where you are going?  Never fear, because NPD stocks the latest Halogen headlights from Tri-Bar as well as Xenon headlights from Delta.  Both of these products have a stock appearance but offer the latest technology and higher intensity bulbs.  And, Rick reminds us that all these parts are in stock at NPD and ready to be shipped to you.  So there you go!

If you would like to know more about the complete line of tailgate replacement parts and light replacements for classic Ford trucks, look to National Parts Depot.  You can give them a visit on the web at http://www.npdlink.com/ to find the warehouse that is closest to you!  By the way, don’t forget when you are looking for unique automotive tools and supplies for your automobile restoration, you should give the folks at Eastwood a visit at www.eastwood.com.
