| Today in Eastwood Garage, Dennis is joined by Rick Schmidt from National Parts Depot and the talk is all about stereo bezels for classic Mustangs!
The conversation begins with the cold hard truth about 1960s and 1970s muscle cars. They went really fast, and they had really bad stereos! One of the problems with upgrading a classic car with a state-of-the-art stereo system has always been making the new stereo fit in the existing compartment. Often when this attempt was made, the results were disastrous with a crooked stereo, and more tragically, a hacked up dash that would cost a pretty penny to replace! But, let’s face it; car audio has definitely grown since the days of AM radio and so has the manner in which they can be installed! National Parts Depot has been selling stereo upgrades for quite some time, but recently they have added a line of stereo bezels for Ford Mustangs that allows easy installation of your new tunes. The best news is there is no cutting on that vintage dashboard!
At this point, Rick shows Dennis a few of the examples of these cool new parts. Rick said that National Parts Depot is now stocking stereo bezels for all 1967-1973 Mustangs. He also mentioned that bezels for 1965-1966 Ponies are still in the works, because those cars were equipped with metal dashes. Rick goes on to point out that these bezels come in a variety of finishes such as chrome, wood, and brushed aluminum. The best part is that they simply bolt into the existing dash with no cutting or hacking! Then the best part is that your state-of-the-art tunes look like they were factory made for your car. National Parts Depot has done it again. This time, instead of making the stereo fit the dash, they have made the dash fit the stereo. It’s just one more example of how Rick and the folks at NPD are working to bring you the best restoration and custom parts for your classic car.
