| Everyone knows how a car sounds can also determine just how cool it is. In this case we're not talking about the exhaust rumble that gives a clue as to what is under the hood, but instead we're talking about the tunes in a classic car that really determine its “coolness factor!” In this segment of Eastwood Garage , we are joined by George Swade from Custom Autosound, who is going to talk a bit about the latest in audio technology for your hot rod or classic car.
First, George tells us that Custom Autosound has more than 400 models available in its USA series that will fit classic cars. As an example, George shows us a replacement for a 1955 Chevy and a radio for a late model Ford Mustang. The great thing about these radios is that there is no cutting or hacking required. They simply bolt right in using the existing openings and holes. George then goes on to say that while the USA series is really great, it is the new Concours series that is really cool because they feature three color illuminations in your choice of red, amber, and green. They are also equipped with LED lights that are brighter and easier to see. Other features in this new line are auxiliary inputs for DVD, MP3, or iPod. Just as with the USA series, there is no cutting or hacking required!
At this point in the conversation, Dennis asked George, “What if you have a really rare cool old radio and want to keep it in the car?” George replied that the answer to that scenario is, “SECRETAUDIO!” This product is a remarkable way to have state-of-the-art audio equipment and still maintain the original look of your classic car. You can mount an in-dash or under-dash controller that links to the “brain,” which consists of an amplifier (four-channel, 35 watts X 4), an AM/FM tuner, and a controller for Custom Autosound's 10 disc CD changer. The ‘brain” of the system also allows for additional components such as an iPod. The brain can be mounted almost anywhere and is easily manipulated by the controller. But wait, there's more! Not only can it be operated by the controller, but SECRETAUDIO also comes with an RF wireless remote that can control the system from up to 40 feet away! Now, how cool is that?
Next, everyone knows that great speakers are also a necessity to any awesome car tunes, so Custom Autosound also has a great speaker system that is super sounding and just as easily tucked away out of sight. The Stealth Undercover Speakers feature a subwoofer and a pair of tweeters and can easily be mounted under the seat or in the back out of view. They also offer kick-panel speakers for some models of cars as well! Finally, to make sure that you can pull in your favorite stations, Custom Autosound offers an amplified hidden antenna system that is easy to mount and will definitely get the job done! So, if you are looking to improve the sounds coming from your classic car or street rod, and we aren't talking headers here, then check out the great players, super speakers, and cool accessories from Custom Autosound.
