| Everyone knows that the only thing that can make your classic ride even cooler is to have some great tunes on board, and in this segment of Eastwood Garage , Sam and Dennis are looking to upgrade the stereo system in Dennis's wife's 1963 Ford Falcon with the newest in technology from Custom Autosound.
Now, Dennis told Sam that when he restored this car just a few years ago, he installed the latest in audio technology from Custom Autosound in the form of their USA-1 stereo and six-disc CD changer in the trunk. Now he wants to upgrade and shows Sam just what he had used and what he now plans to install. First of all, Dennis went over the basics of what he had done. He had installed kick panel speakers that fit perfectly, after he had painted them to match the interior of the car. Then, he removed the old “tinny” sounding speaker from the dash. So, while the kick panel speakers are still solid and sound great, he is going to add a new dash replacement speaker from Custom Autosound. These two-channel/two-way speakers are made to fit just like factory originals, and with a bigger magnet than the original replacement parts, they deliver rich bass response. Next comes the radio itself and Dennis is replacing the USA-1 with Custom Autosound's state-of-the-art USA-6. This radio has AM/FM capability and 140 watts of power! There is no cassette deck with this model, but Dennis does mention that it is available in the USA-5 radio that delivers 100 watts of power! The USA-6 also has two RCA jacks for pre-amps and also has the ability to control Dennis's next upgrade, a ten-disc CD changer that he will install in the trunk, replacing his six-disc unit. While the older versions of their radios are not compatible with the ten-disc unit, the newer versions are, and the sweet thing is that the ten-disc changer is priced the same as the six-disc player!
While all their products are of the highest quality, the thing to remember about stereo gear from Custom Autosound is that each unit they sell is individually fitted to match the original holes and openings in your classic car's dash—that means no cutting! And their radios will work in most vehicles produced from the 1940s through the 1980s. You can guarantee a great sound and an even better fit and look with stereos and speakers from Custom Autosound.
