MCC Autofest Nationals

The 3rd Annual Autofest Nationals, presented by MOPAR was bigger and better than ever last year. Over 700 cars and over 15,000 people joined in the fun filled weekend.

Autofest Nationals began on Friday night with a Cruise-in to Evansville's Riverfront. Saturday started with sunshine AND street rods, customs, Yenko Novas, Camaros and Chevelles, Boss Mustangs and even two Daytonas lining up at Roberts Stadium, to name a few. Detailing kits appeared, previously won trophies and awards were displayed and the car show ritual began.

The feature cars seen on My Classic Car TV were on display. The concourse level was overflowing with excitement too. Car lovers could view several Chrysler concept and specialty cars, a wide variety of automotive vendors, plus a few more show cars thrown in for good measure. Kruse Auction was busy taking bids. What a temptation, and not one that some folks could resist!

My Classic Car was pleased to have Carlisle Productions' world-class swap meet at Autofest Nationals, with a sea of hard to find of parts and services to help keep those classics and Rods on the road.

Hundreds of club members turned out for the club MCC reception. This year, Club MCC made donations to the Antique Automobile Club of American and to the SEMA Scholarship Fund. The night was topped off with a cruise to Wolf's Bar-B-Q. Nothing could beat the sight of hundreds of cars cruising through Evansville on a warm, balmy night. Well, maybe those ribs!

Autofest attendees were also treated to a rare glimpse of the MOPAR survivor cars. What a collection of MOPAR muscle history. We caught up with Dave Duell, for a view of Autofest from MOPAR's perspective. And our friends at Holley were back with tons of new stuff for our hot rod and performance fans.

For the first time Autofest hit the cyber highway with a live Internet web cast of the all the goings on, plus the Resto Tent stayed busy with all types of automotive related seminars.

Master Mechanic and all around great guy, Sam Memmolo and Dennis Gage had a blast signing autographs and hamming it up for folks.

The awards ceremony with its display of unbelievable cars, was a fitting grand finale for the weekend. The quality of cars just kept going up.

Join us for Autofest Nationals on October 13,14 & 15, 2000. You won't want to miss it. The Camaro Legends Tour will be here, a Dennis Gage look-a-like mustache contest will be a hoot and kids (big and small) will love our model car contest. There's lots more!
