"Choosing A Car To Restore"
Written by Keith Fudge

The first thing you want to look for at this point is public enemy number one: rust! Try to find a car that is rust free or has only a little rust. On our Cobra here, we have some rust especially on the lower doors.

The most common problem with rust occurred when water got trapped inside and the car began to rust from the inside. As the window stripping dried out water would run down inside the door. Drain holes at the bottom of the door are supposed to drain the water out, but often they become clogged.

Missing parts can be expensive and hard to find. For example, our Cobra is pretty much complete, but the snake emblems on the window louvers and the grille are missing: my guess is somebody needed some for their car.
