Buick Super Riviera Open
Our feature this week is about the '54 Buick
Super Riviera, a truely modern postwar Buick that combined a beautiful
Harley Earl studio design with an overhead valve engine!
In 1954 Buick introduced a new body for the
Super, or series 50 cars. Using the new vertical windshield pillar in
combination with the Panoramic windshield the Super for 1954 was a large
car priced below the more expensive Road master models (series 70). .
A V-8 engine that produced 177 horsepower provided power for the Buick
Super. One of the models in the Super series for 1954 was the Riviera
model.
On this weeks show we take a close look at the 1954 Super
Riviera owned by Jackson Taylor of Green Lake, Wisconsin. One look at
this Buick tells you it is truly a stunning car, from it's two tone exterior
to its red interior this Buick is a true 50's classic. It's a car that
makes the answer to the age-old question, "Wouldn't you really rather
have a Buick?" easy. "Yes."
