George May's 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle
" I aquired this jewel in 1972 by trading a Bata Max VCR even for it. My wife and I drove it for about 4 years before parking it until I could restore it. In October 2006 my son Bill, my son in law David and I decided to get started on it. It took us 8 months and a few dollars to finish it. But as you can see it was well worth it. It was a frame on restoration replacing floor panels, quarter panels, all the chrome from bumpers to door handles & mirrors. We did all the work on it ourselves from the body work to the paint job, rebuilding the motor and replacing all the interior. The engine is a 350 four bolt main with a Edelbrock Performer intake, a 750 Holley Street Avenger carb and a 350 Turbo Trans. We had it in 7 car show's last year and it won 4 award's. It was featured on Power Block TV on the Horse Power Show as Courtney's Pick of the Week on March 31, 2007 and in the March 2008 Cruisin Times Magazine in the Kool Rides section. Needless to say I am extreamly proud of our accomplishment and the fact that we have brought back to life something that others may have just sent to the scrap yard. Thank goodness there are still Car Nut's like myself trying to preserve vintage vehicles for the next generation's to injoy. "
