Alan E. Stroh's 1968 Cadillac DeVille
"81,000 original miles. Car was sold new in eastern Indiana. Original owner passed away in 1992. Car was sold by estate and new owner broke engine in 94 and deposited it under a tree in a field on his property for the next 10 years. My wife and I acquired the beast in June of 04 and have spent 2 1/2 years and 35 grand on a complete restoration..and this was with teardown and reassembly by us. There isn't a bolt on this car that hasn't been turned, nor a piece or part that hasn't been rebuilt or replaced. She is slightly hotrodded with a lowered stance, Coddington Timeless 5 wheels, big meats and some mild shaving of emblems. Paint is DuPont Artic White 2 stage that looks about three miles deep. We have had this beast up to about 130 mph (estimated) on highway 164 outside of Evansville IN and it is like driving a ballistic bedroom. Rock solid and glass smooth. Even with limited shows in 06 (she didn't hit the street till mid-September) she won trophies at all including 1 best in class and 1 best of show. 07 plans include the Hot Rod Power Tour, Somernights in Somerset Kentucky in July and hopefully several Goodguys events, along with the 4 shows that our club produces. (display there only..we never judge our own cars). This car is immaculate and deserves trailer queen status, but she was built to drive and drive her I will."
