Johnnie Jackow's 1968 Chevrolet Camaro
" My car is a 1968 pro street camaro. It has a 427 bored 0.60 over with 12.5 compression. It has a crane roller cam set up with a 714 lift with 262/272 duration at 0.50 with stud girdle, roller rockers and competition chrome molly push rods. 2 custom built 660 center squirter holley carbs sit on a Weiand port matched tunnel ram intake manifold. The heads are GM high performance 990's with stainless valves and ported to the max. Ignition system is all MSD. March aluminum pulleys that run a serpentine belt on a spring loaded belt tensioner that I personally customized. Turbo 400 transmission with a 4000 stall converter. Tubbed dana 60 rear end with 456 gears. Coil over ladder bar set up on the rear and coil over set up with race shocks up front. Steering is a unisteer manual rack & pinion set up. Car runs 9.80's in the 1/4 on slicks and I can drive it on 10-20 mile cruises on the weekends. The car sounds like a beast and turns heads every where I go. I did 90% of all the work myself and to date I have approximately $28000 in the car on parts alone. "
